Newlands is a luxurious 2 bedroomed apartment arranged on the first and second floors with some fine views across Keswick to the Lakeland Fells beyond. The apartment was formally part of the Royal Oak Hotel, the main coaching inn of Keswick. It has been divided up into luxury apartments, leaving the original entrance and foyer and stairway as it was. To take full advantage of the superb views over to the fells from two sides, the apartment was designed with the large lounge on the 2nd floor. It is situated in a perfect location at the top of town, just off Station Street. The apartment also has its own secure parking bay in Banks Court which is 1 minutes’ walk away. The building is entered via a pedestrian area and has the advantage of audio/video entry system for peace of mind. The grand communal staircase leads up to the first floor or alternatively the lift can be used. A separate corridor leads to the entrance to the apartment. On entering, a hallway leads off to the double bedroom with king size bed and twin room with bunk beds. Both have ample hanging room and storage space. The bathroom has an electric shower over the bath, with wash basin and toilet. The staircase leads to a landing where the living accommodation is found. The large lounge has comfortable seating, Smart TV and a DVD. Magnificent views towards the fells can be enjoyed from the double aspect windows. The fully fitted kitchen has an electric oven with gas hob, microwave, fridge and washing machine. The adjacent dining area seats four. A freezer and tumble drier are provided in a cupboard on the landing. The apartment also has Wi-Fi. The apartment is fully double glazed and central heated to ensure it warm and cosy even in the depths of winter. The Royal Oak Hotel was built in the 18th Century was the meeting point for the Lakeland poets such as Wordsworth, Coleridge and Shelley.
